چکیده
The formation and propagation of pseudo-filamentary dielectric barrier discharge in atmospheric air are investigated through a 2D fluid model. development can be divided into three stages: the volume streamer stage, surface reverse stage. simulations show that head becomes wider electron density increases six times when interacts with dielectric, transforms after interaction. Compared streamers, streamers have smaller radius, higher electric field, density. Furthermore, parameters may influence characteristics also studied. It is found larger permittivity, thinner or shorter voltage rise time leads to earlier inception faster current observed velocity first, then, decreases accumulated charges on surface.

Deposition of polymer-like coatings with a nanosecond pulsed dielectric barrier discharge at atmospheric pressure
Atmospheric-pressure dielectric barrier discharges (AP-DBD) generally result in highly cross-linked coatings with a low retention of the monomer structure. Moreover, when high concentrations of precursor or/and reactive gas is used, coatings become less homogenous, less conformal and rougher. This study highlights the possibility to deposit smooth, conformal and polymer-like coatings thanks to ...
متن کاملKinetic study of low temperature methane oxidation in a nanosecond repetitively pulsed dielectric barrier discharge
Methane oxidation was investigated in a nanosecond repetitively pulsed dielectric barrier discharge. Quantitative measurements of temperature and product species were performed using tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy and gas chromatograph sampling. Discrepancies with modelling work revealed uncertainties in the low temperature oxidation reactions, particularly for methyl radical oxida...
متن کاملApplication of nanosecond-pulsed dielectric barrier discharge for biomedical treatment of topographically non-uniform surfaces
Antimicrobial effectiveness of a nanosecond-pulsed dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) was investigated and compared with that of a microsecond-pulsed DBD. Experiments were conducted on the Escherichia coli bacteria covering a topographically non-uniform agar surface acting as one of the DBD electrodes. They reveal that the nanosecond-pulsed DBD can inactivate bacteria in recessed areas whereas ...
متن کاملTheoretical study of the dielectric barrier discharge at atmospheric pressure
In this paper, the progress in the theoretical study of the dielectric barrier discharge is reported. The model of the atmospheric-pressure discharge is discussed. Such effects as the oscillations of the Townsend mode of the discharge, the instability of the Townsend mode with subsequent transition to the filamentary discharge, and the stabilization of the barrier discharge by the photoemission...
متن کاملA Numerical Study of the Sour Gas Reforming in a Dielectric Barrier Discharge Reactor
In this paper, using a one-dimensional simulation model, the reforming process of sour gas, i.e. CH4, CO2, and H2S, to the various charged particles and syngas in a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor is studied. An electric field is applied across the reactor radius, and thus a non-thermal plasma discharge is formed within the reactor. Based on the space...
